Mispah

Shed

Mispah was a small shed in the back of the garden, it came from the name of our first family home in Frimley Green. The house was built around the time of the First World War and to the best of our knowledge was named when a loved one left for action. We believe that Mispah (cf. Mizpah) in this case refers to an emotional bond between people who are separated.

When we moved the new residents decided to change the name despite it being well known in the locallity and unchanged for sixty years. To keep the name alive we christened the shed in our next home Mispah, giving it the old name plate. We continue to use the name for our on line prescence.

Benbow

Admiral Benbow

We belive that this branch of the Anthony Family is descended from Admiral Benbow's daughter. From as far back as we can go, the first male child has been given Benbow as a middle name. We are trying to trace the family tree back to Admiral Benbow and any details that could help would be greatly appreciated. In the painting above he looks just like my grandfather, Charles Benbow Anthony. If you have any information you could share or just to get in touch please email ben @ mispah.com (omitting spaces).
